Robin Hood and the Shirley Family

The following story is from the Shirley Family Foundation website, it was Mike Kenny's presentation at the Ettington 920th Anniversary Celebration June 3rd, 2006

​This plaque was on the left side of Lady Selina Shirley Huntington's monument at Ashby De La Zouch in England.

Another story I heard from another source is:
One family told me Robin Hood came from Staffordshire not Nottingham and he lived near a place called Loxley which happens to be near Chartley Castle. According to this family, Robin Hood was a titled man driven from his true origins becoming out lawed on his return from the crusades.
