The Family of Barnett Young

Barnett (Barney) Young and his wife Minerva Catherine Swicegood with five of their sons.  My husband descends from their son, Andrew who is standing on the end on the right.

Barnett (Barney) was born March 03, 1777 in Paradise, York County, Pennsylvania. The 1820 Census shows Barnett living in Salisbury, Rowan County, North Carolina and engaged in agriculture.
 
Barney married Minerva Catherine Swicegood in 1800.  She was the daughter of John Adam Swicegood and Anna Maria Catherine Beck.  Minerva was born February 06, 1764 in Rowan, North Carolina. 
 
Barney died January 15, 1827 and Minerva died July 18, 1859. Both died in Tyro, Davidson County, North Carolina and are buried in Sandy Creek Cemetery, Tyro, Davidson County, North Carolina.
