Maj. Richard Bayly  was born circa 1645 and died before 4 June 1728 in Accomack County, Virginia. Richard's will was proved on June 4, 1728.  He was the son of Richard and Elizabeth Bayly. Richard was named in his father's will on 12 June 1662. Richard married Mary Jones before 3 February 1664 in Accomack County, Virginia. In the will of Henry Jones, Mary Bayly was shown as Henry's sister and Richard Bayly as his brother-in-law.

Richard Bayly witnessed the will of Mary Scarburgh, wife of Col. Edmund Scarburgh on June 14, 1691. 

Richard and Mary's Children:
1.Capt. Richard Bayly Jr. (III) (Burgess) b. c 1665, d. May 1708
2.Edmund Bayly  b. c 1670, d. Mar 1718  (Click here for his story)
3.Dau. Bayly,  b. c 1672, d. b 19 Apr 1726

​Sometime after Mary's death, Richard married Elizabeth Lacey in Accomack County, Virginia.
