Edward was born June 14, 1824 in Spencer, North Carolina. He died on August 20, 1904 in Greenville, TX. He was the son of Edward Shepherd and his wife Rachel. Edward, Sr. was born in 1794 in Davidson Co., North Carolina. Edward married Eliza Loretta Young. Eliza was born in 1838. She was the daughter of Andrew Barnett Young and Margareta Melvina Rotan. Edward died August 20, 1904 in Greenville, TX. Eliza died 1909 also in Greenville, Tx. They are buried at East Mount Cemetery, Greenville, Hunt County, Texas .
