Organization: Organized on July 22, 1863. Mustered into Confederate service on July 22, 1863. Field consolidation with the 4th (Roddey's) Cavalry Regiment from January 19, 1865, to May 4, 1865. Surrendered by Lieutenant Richard Taylor, commanding the Department of Alabama, Mississippi and East Louisiana, at Meridian, Mississippi, on May 4, 1865.
