With the exception of Pogue Cemetery, the family members included in the cemeteries of Tippah County, Mississippi are descendants of Edward and Nancy (Short) Norton and his brother, William and Sophia (Short) Norton. Nancy and Sophia were also sisters.

The pictures are taken from a CD entitled "Tippah County Tombstones", copyright by Tom L. Childers. Mr. Childers was very gracious in granting us permission to use these photographs here and we extend our appreciation and gratitude to him. Only known family members are included on this page. The CD has a total of 2,097 tombstones, covering 12 cemeteries in Tippah County, Mississippi. Not all of the cemeteries have been photographed as yet, as soon as they are made available they will also be on-line. Pollock Family members are mainly interred in Pogue Cemetery, which has not yet been photographed.

The CD can be purchased from Mr. Childers for $25.00. Make your check out to Tom Childers and mail your request to: Tom L. Childers, 723 Holly Drive, Henderson, Tennessee 38340.

Pogue Cemetery is the final resting place of Mary "Polly" Norton Pollock, daughter of William Norton and wife of John Pollock. (This William Norton was the uncle of Edward & William Norton mentioned above). The pictures of Polly's gravesite are provided by Richard Phillips, a descendant of Mary & John Pollock's son, William.
